Home to countless special events, the Chattanooga Market and the Chattanooga Football Club soccer and Chattanooga Mocs football teams, the complex surrounding Finley Stadium is often hopping. Since its early days as a functioning train station, it has since become a center for history and entertainment. The terminal station, which now serves as the lobby, was built in 1909 and retains its historic grandeur. State of Confusion’s sprawling patio can’t be beat. Must-haves include the fried chicken and red wine-braised pot roast. The chic atmosphere is sophisticated yet cozy, and the locally sourced menu is exquisite. Located among the shops at Warehouse Row, this restaurant is highly rated by both native Chattanoogans and visitors. Public House features refined tastes and beautifully plated dishes of elevated Southern cuisine. At Kenny’s, expect upscale but approachable takes on classics, like pork belly on an English muffin or a brisket Reuben.
John’s and The Meeting Place, known for five-star food and service. Less than a year after this brunch/lunch spot opened, it snagged space in Garden & Gun in an article titled “Is This Chattanooga’s Best Breakfast?” In case that isn’t testament enough, the menu features homemade and locally sourced ingredients, and it’s the sister restaurant to date night favorites St. Main Street alone offers more than a dozen restaurants in just a few blocks, with more popping up all the time. With probably the highest concentration of independent, locally owned restaurants in the city, the Southside is a destination for foodies and hungry families alike.
